This role forms part of the front of house food and beverage team at The Bay Hotel, within the Village n Life hospitality group.
The Role
As a Runner you’ll assist waitrons in ensuring smooth and efficient service, allowing them to spend more time with guests. You’ll support the dining team by clearing tables, preparing setups and maintaining a clean and welcoming restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist waitrons with serving orders promptly
– Clear dishes and glasses and return them to the kitchen for cleaning
– Polish cutlery and clean glasses for service
– Reset tables after clearing them
– Prepare the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner service
– Keep the dining area clean and properly set up
– Wipe menus and wine lists before storing them away
– Seat guests on arrival where applicable
– Direct guest complaints or comments to a waitron or manager
– Support cleaning tasks after shifts
What We’re Looking For
– Grade 12 or equivalent
– Familiar with restaurant duties and procedures
– Opera experience advantageous
– Ability to read, write and converse in English
– Team player with relationship-building skills
– Dependable, adaptable and detail-focused
– Able to follow authority and work well under supervision
