This role forms part of the front office team at The Bay Hotel, within the Village n Life hospitality group.
The Role
As a Porter you’ll be the first point of contact for guests, assisting with luggage and ensuring the entrance and lobby are welcoming and well maintained. You’ll also support access control, handle deliveries and assist with minor maintenance, always upholding the standards of Village n Life.
Key Responsibilities
– Welcome guests and assist with luggage
– Keep entrance and lobby clean and inviting
– Direct guests to reception, conference rooms or restaurants
– Deliver luggage, mail, letters and parcels to rooms
– Support access control and follow property security protocols
– Respond to first aid and fire emergencies
– Report maintenance and housekeeping issues promptly
– Carry out minor maintenance tasks where required
– Uphold exclusivity and membership policies
– Upsell hotel products and service partners
What We’re Looking For
– Grade 12 or equivalent
– PSIRA Grade C preferred
– Driver’s licence with PDP essential
– Previous experience in a similar role
– First Aid and Fire/Evacuation certificates advantageous
– Strong communication skills in English
– Dependable, adaptable and guest-focused
– Ability to work well in a team and handle pressure
