Celebrating Spring with Vintage With Love

On Saturday 1 September, The Bay Hotel welcomed 120 ladies (and two gentlemen!) to a Spring Collection High Tea event inside Tides Restaurant.

The afternoon event was in aid of Vintage With Love and guests were encouraged to bring a bag of gently worn clothing and accessories to donate to the charity ahead of their big sale next year. We were thrilled to host the first of a series of high tea events for the organization. All the money raised from ticket sales went to Vintage With Love and the literacy programs they support.

The day was a truly beautiful Cape Town Spring day and on arrival guests were offered a glass of delicious Boschendal bubbly and shown to their seats.

The ladies and gents were welcomed by The Bay Hotel Marketing Manager, Kate Pringle-Wood, who encouraged guests to become members of our exclusive Village n Life Leisure Club and introduced the ladies from Vintage With Love.

Guests were treated to a prize giving, where a limited amount of guests found lucky numbers under their seats. The fun was not over yet, as the excitement in our beautifully decorated Tides restaurant mounted when an auction took place for a limited edition leather handbag; this, too, raising money for the charity and the awesome literacy initiatives they support.

Guests enjoyed a bevy of delicious treats prepared by The Bay Hotel Executive Chef. In true high tea style, guests enjoyed scrumptious snacks which included beautiful dainty sandwiches, bite size quiches and assorted mini tartlets, cupcakes and scones. Everything was served on tiered cake stands and placed on tables for ladies to enjoy all afternoon while bubbly and Boschendal Rose Garden Rosé wine flowed.

Once everybody had enjoyed their delicious snacks, the pop-up shop inside Caamils Bar was open for business. The shop included a selection of some of the top items collected by the charity so far. Ladies could browse, try on and purchase items knowing all their money was in aid of a good cause. The items were all beautiful with many ladies making some great purchases while enjoying a beautiful afternoon at The Bay Hotel.
